Violencia, justicia y perdón / Violence, justice and pardon

En este texto se distingue entre la fuerza física, la agresividad animal y la crueldad humana. En segundo lugar, se muestra el vínculo inseparable entre la violencia humana y la institución de la ley y de la comunidad política. A continuación, se hace una crítica de las tres grandes ideologías políticas modernas (liberalismo, socialismo y nacionalismo), como otras tantas utopías de la no violencia que han engendrado nuevas formas de violencia. Por último, a partir de las terribles experiencias del siglo XX, se esbozan siete tesis sobre las características de la violencia humana, sobre el modo en que se replica a sí misma y sobre las posibles vías para interrumpirla o limitarla.

Abstract: In this paper I firstly distinguish between physical strength, animal aggressiveness and human cruelty. Secondly, I show the inseparable link that ties human violence to the establishment of law and the political community. I then critically examine the three great modern political ideologies (liberalism, socialism and nationalism), which as other utopies of non-violence have produce new forms of violence. Finally, taken into account the terrible experiences of the 20th century, I outline seven additional theses on the features of human violence, on the way it copy itself and on the posible ways to interrupt or restrict it.
