Abstract
Konfessionell ausgerichtete Bildungsangebote geraten in einer religionspluralen Gesellschaft immer stärker unter Legitimationsdruck. Der Artikel erörtert aus Perspektive der (empirischen) Religionspädagogik, der interkulturellen Pädagogik sowie der Komparativen Theologie, inwiefern konfessionell ausgerichtete Bildungsangebote unverzichtbare Beiträge zur (religiösen) Bildung in religionspluraler Gesellschaft leisten. Dabei werden jedoch auch die Herausforderungen und Hürden konfessioneller Bildungsangebote herausgearbeitet. „… we Catholics do it as well!“. The necessity of confessional education in a religiously plural society Religious Education organized according to denominations is to be justified in a religiously plural society. The paper discusses from the perspective of (empirical) RE, Intercultural Pedagogy and Comparative Theology the indispensable value of confessional learning for (religious) education in a religiously plural society. Furthermore the article highlights the challenges and learning impediments of these confessional educational offers.
