Abstract
Considerando el mayor o menor grado de septicidad del medio ambiente, es el aire el que presenta menos peligros de todos los elementos que rodean al habitante humano. El individuo introduce en sus pulmones al rededor de 450 litros de aire por hora y puede suponerse cuáles serían los trastornos resultantes de esa ventilación pulmonar si la flora microbiana fuera numerosa y de elevado poder patógeno, no obstante las defensas naturales escalonadas a lo largo del conducto respiratorio, pues, seún Reby, hay 404 millones de alveolos que dan una superficie de 79 metros cuadrados en respiración ordinaria y 129 en respiración forzada.
