Abstract
Ahmet Vurgun’un, Millî Tarih Nedir? başlıklı çalışması; konjonktüre göre değerli
veya değersiz görülen millî tarih kavramının ortaya çıkış ve gelişim sürecini
ele alması, “tarih yazımı ve tarih eğitimindeki durumu da göz önüne sermesi
bakımından” önem taşımaktadır. Türkiye’de tarih öğretiminin “iki temel direği”
olarak tanımlanan tarihçiler ve tarih eğitimcileri ile yapılan görüşmelerle
millî tarih üzerine konuşulmuş, bir nevi millî tarihin ülkemizdeki serencamı
ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.
