Abstract
The role of the parenting coordinator in the United States was born in the 90s, to help families to resolve conflicts when the couple’s separation means that everyday disputes have not been able to be resolved, producing a high level of conflict and a large number of interventions with social workers, as well as health and/or legal interventions. The aim of this study is to present
the role of the parenting coordinator, a highly specialized person that intervenes effectively in these families to minimize interparental conflict, to the benefit of the children and also the parents. The experience of the role of the parenting coordinator
in other countries has been a useful model in the reduction and resolution of conflicts in the family courts.
