Abstract
Research in order to identify the importance of spirituality in cancer patients to fight illness and treatment process. Qualitative, descriptive research and field. Semi-structured interview was held with ten cancer patients being treated in away from home in a city in the extreme south of Santa Catarina. The analysis and interpretation of data was carried out from the analysis of content, through the categorization of data. Spirituality can be a form of coping strategy of the patient before the cancer, assigning meaning to the process of illness and suffering. The nursing care must understand the spiritual dimension seeking subsidies to care fully both the cancer patient like family.
Recherche visant à identifier l'importance de la spiritualité chez les patients atteints de cancer pour affronter la maladie et le processus de traitement. Recherche qualitative, descriptive et de terrain. Des entretiens semi-directifs ont été menés auprès de dix patients cancéreux pris en charge dans le cadre d'un traitement hors domicile dans une ville de l'extrême sud de l'État de Santa Catarina. L'analyse et l'interprétation des données ont été réalisées à partir d'une analyse de contenu, par le biais de la catégorisation des données. La spiritualité peut constituer une stratégie d'adaptation pour le patient face au cancer, conférant du sens au processus de la maladie et à la souffrance. Les soins infirmiers doivent intégrer la dimension spirituelle, en quête de repères permettant d'assurer une prise en charge globale tant du patient atteint de cancer que de sa famille.
