Abstract
El artículo aborda la vida y obra de Elkin Pérez Álvarez como reflejo de los procesos de transformación de la música andina colombiana en los últimos treinta años del siglo XX. A partir de sus roles como formador de músicos, jurado de festivales e investigador, el trabajo concluye que su didáctica lúdica posibilitó la formación de generaciones de músicos en Medellín, quienes hoy se destacan en el ámbito musical andino colombiano.
