Abstract
No contexto literário que vamos apresentar, não nos é possível recuar, no tempo, para trás do século XVI. É que, se temos um ou outro texto poético com expressão artística como o caso da cantiga de João de Roiz de Castelo Branco “Senhora, partem tristes/meus olhos por vós meu bem/que nunca tão tristes vistes/outros nenhuns por ninguém.”, não temos nenhum escritor que deixasse uma obra individual de vulto.
Fazemos uma excepção significativa, referindo Fernão Lopes e a sua Crónica de D.
João I do qual apresentámos um estudo cuidadoso e intensivo no 1º volume do compêndio de Literatura que publicámos.
