Abstract
O presente trabalho volta-se à apreensão do humor e à inclinação humana para o cômico. Na verdade, esse tema pode ser abordado em termos amplos ou restritos. No sentido amplo, aplica-se à literatura, palavra ou texto de todo gênero e tipo cujo objetivo maior seja divertir ou causar riso. Aqui, as pretensões são bem modestas. A proposição é analisar piadas e, para tanto, o presente estudo se organiza em duas partes: primeiro, faz uma descrição dos ingredientes linguísticos responsáveis pelo humor, os quais são explicitados posteriormente na leitura das piadas selecionadas para a investigação, e, através da descrição desses gatilhos, orienta a interpretação desse gênero textual, ancorando-se na existência de um sentido básico, primeiro – o sentido literal. Em segundo lugar, é feita a análise de algumas piadas, explicitando-se a “armadilha” linguística a ser desvendada pela atividade interpretativa.
