Abstract
El presente trebejo se realizó para establecer los valores normales de lípidos y de lipoproteínas en la ciudad de Bogotá. Se utilizó el método de "Muestreo probabilístico", mediante e1 cual, se seleccionaron 225 personas obteniéndose muestras de sangre en 172. De ellos 99 eran mujeres y el resto hombres, cuyas edades oscilaban de 15 a 64 años, agrupándose así: 15-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64. Los datos obtenidos se codificaron y perforaron en formatos y tarjetas l.B.M., procesándose en un computador 360/44, de la Universidad de los Andes. Los valores de colesterol fueron más altos en las personas que consumían alcohol en mayor proporción. Las mujeres presentaron las cifras más altas, pero en hombres y mujeres, aumentó con la edad. Los fosfolípidos fueron también más elevados en mujeres y también se incrementaban con los años. Con los triglicéridos ocurrió lo contrario, los hombres tenían valores más altos que las mujeres.
