Abstract
L’articolo analizza i risultati del recente rapporto ISTAT sulla lettura in Italia nel 2010 e 2011; commenta i dati sugli e-book forniti dall’Associazione italiana editori nel giugno 2012; propone alcune riflessioni sulla prevalenza femminile nell’acquisto e nel consumo di libri.
Nella parte conclusiva si propongono alcuni suggerimenti strategici alle biblioteche pubbliche, in considerazione dei cambiamenti registrati anche in Italia nell’organizzazione dei tempi di vita delle persone e nell’impiego del tempo libero.
