Abstract
En este artículo se presenta el caso clínico de un paciente canino con un trauma a nivel de piel, que fue tratado mediante un trasplante heterólogo en una matriz gelificada de fibrinógeno con fibroblastos cultivados in vitro. La aplicación de fibroblastos en el paciente logró una mejoría notoria con respecto a la disminución del tamaño de la herida y la ausencia de reacciones alérgicas y efectos adversos frente al tratamiento. Esta experiencia abre las puertas para un desarrollo en la investigación en el área de ingeniería de tejidos veterinaria con fines terapéuticos en Costa Rica.
