Abstract
The delicate issue of the ongoing educational system – the higher educational system, state or private – a constrained system that has to cope with the current requirements that increase bitterly, has been brought into UNESCO’s attention for a long time. If the developed countries must face changes in all the domains, for the countries in process of development, it is necessary to increase access to education, to revise the outdated educational curriculum and to improve the education activity, as well as the school’s results. For this purpose, involving decision-makers is required, and their partnership with UNESCO, UNICEF, the United Nations and various NGOs should have as finality innovative strategies, thereby any solution to the problems of today’s education (abandonment, limited access, poor results, lack of teaching materials, etc.) In order to exemplify an approach which was successful, regarding finding solutions to the problems of education, the author mentions the “Declaration of Dakar” and its implications.
