Abstract
II gravimetro Worden viene descritto nei particolari, e ne vieneesposta la teoria. Rettifiche e tarature a scopo geofisico vengono esposteper il Worden n. 50. In particolare, ne viene studiata la deriva egli e f f e t t i su di essa degli urti, della pressione e della temperatura:esso risulta compensato per la temperatura, ma ne risente per fortigradienti. La deriva osservata risulta compresa fra — 0,03 e -f- 0,15mgal/ora, col valore medio di -(- 0,05 mgal/ora. Opportune cautelesono quindi necessarie per determinarla ed eliminarne l ' e f f e t t o dairisultati. Con le norme indicate, la precisione di una misura a scopogeo fisico è di 0,03 mgal.A scopo sperimentale, il gravimetro è stato quindi applicato aduna prospezione di dettaglio nella bonifica alle foci del Timavo. Sonostate eseguite 52 stazioni, tutte ripetute due o più volte. Le anomaliesecondo Bouguer consentono di ricavare indicazioni sulla topografiadel fondo roccioso sottostante.
