Abstract
Principal’s Strategies in Empowering Vocational High School. The objective of this study was to find out strategies applied by the Principal of SMKN 3 Banda Aceh in empowering the school. Qualitative approach was applied in the study. The data were obtained from observation, interview and documentation. The problems investigated included the situation, condition, and the environment of the SMK, the Principal, school staffs and the stakeholders of the school. The results showed that the strategies applied by the principal were exercised by formulating the vision, mission and school’s objectives, which involved all staffs in the process. The strategy of the school’s management empowerment was carried out through the teaching and learning process, production unit, industrial internship, public relation, the improvement of the school’s environment and the effort to maintain the school’s existence in the society.
