As ideias do Iluminismo conquistaram numerosos seguidores, entre eles o filósofo francês Voltaire. Para analisarmos a obra ficcional “Cândido” de Voltaire, é necessário, compreender o mundo filosofal voltairiano e suas críticas acirradas e debochadas ao otimismo leibniziano, que garante ser este o “melhor dos mundos possíveis”; para adentrarmos e compreendermos o mundo de Cândido.
