Abstract
La presencia de una lesión redondeada en la radiografía de tórax siempre debe elevar la sospecha de neoplasia. Sin embargo, entre los diagnósticos diferenciales debe tenerse en cuenta la neumonía redonda. Esta es una forma inusual de presentación de la neumonía en el adulto vista en 1% de los casos, que puede estar o no asociada a la presencia de síntomas agudos de infección y sólo se puede diagnosticar de manera acertada por la evolución radiológica y no por la clínica. Se presenta el caso de un paciente con síntomas agudos de infección y una lesión radiológica redonda, que recibe tratamiento antibiótico con mejoría del cuadro clínico, pero sin cambios radiológicos que obligaron a la realización de biopsia pulmonar.
