In the article on the basis of wide range of historical sources the comprehensive study of Greek Catholic Church's measures towards the development of Ukrainian culture in Eastern Galicia 1919-1939's is made, the position of the public in the region about main directions of Church's activity in this area in the intermilitary period is studied. Achieving this goal was possible only through the study materials of the Galician press 20-30's XX. With the help of modern methodology is revealed several key problems that the complete picture of the place and role of the Greek Catholic Church in the culture life of the region's population at that time reflect. Greek Catholic Church has repeatedly advocated the sole support of artistic centers ofEastern Galiciain the intermilitary period. The Galician press noted the impact of Greek Catholic Church on all major areas of art: architecture, theater, music, painting and etc. Thanks to support of Greek Catholic bishops Ukrainian cultural achievements in the region around the world were known as it works on Ukrainian culture. Estimates of Greek Catholic Church's activities in the cultural sphere ranged from public censure to full support and depend primarily on the political orientation rather than the national character of the press release. As Ukrainian and Polish editions underlined the primarily interest of Greek Catholic Church those areas of Ukrainian culture, which the highest priority in the case of formation of Ukrainian national identity in the region war considered.
