Abstract
Este artigo compara o comportamento dos traços laringais nas línguas Latundê e Negarotê (família Nambikwára, ramo Nambikwára do Norte), a fim de refletir sobre o seu status nestas línguas. Os dados analisados foram coletados pelas pesquisadoras durante visitas ao grupo Latundê, entre os anos 1997-2001, e ao grupo Negarotê, no ano de 2013. A literatura disponível sobre outras línguas desta família também foi considerada para a análise. Os resultados, além de ratificar a proximidade entre as línguas, evidenciam o processo de mudança linguística em curso, já sinalizado nas línguas Nambikwára do Norte em estudos prévios.
