Abstract
Los estomatólogos están expuestos al riesgo de contraer enfermedades por su trabajo con pacientes posibles portadores de enfermedades infecciosas transmitidas por sangre o por aerosoles, entre otros el VIH y virus de la hepatitis B (VHB), además de la manipulación de sustancias potencialmente tóxicas por parte del personal técnico. Existen normativas o regulaciones para la prevención de riesgo que necesitan actualización así como la creación de una estructura de bioseguridad en los centros asistenciales estomatológicos que garanticen el cumplimiento de estas medidas. Se plantea la necesidad de crear la estructura y los mecanismos que aseguren el cumplimiento de la bioseguridad en las clínicas estomatológicas del país.
Stomatologists are exposed to risks of acquire diseases through contact with patients carriers of infectious diseases communicable by blood or by aerosols, including VIH and hepatitis B in addition to manipulation of potentially toxic substances by technical staff. There are guidelines and regulations to risk preservation requiring an updating and the creation of biosafety structure in stomatological assistance network warranting execution of biosafety in dental office of the country.
