Abstract
The main objective of the following essay is to analyze the dramatic play Historia de la sangre (1991) by Alfredo Castro, in the context of the lacanian approximation to the concept of perversion. According to many scholars, this dramatic play pretends to embody The Real—the unchangeable truth repressed by Chilean dictatorship (1973-88). Nevertheless, I propose that Historia de la sangre doesn’t embody The Real, but enunciates a perverse discourse (broken signifiers that endure the repression). In sum, I suggest that Castro’s work allegorizes the aesthetics, ethics, and politics of memory and oblivion of Chilean Post dictatorial Era.
