Abstract
O objetivo do artigo é elucidar os argumentos centrais da teoria da modernidade de Habermas. Em vez de abandoná-lo, Habermas procura reconstruir o projeto de emancipação moderno através da reconstrução dos fundamentos da racionalidade da ação e da racionalização social moderna a partir: da reconstrução da explicação e superação crítica das interpretações unilaterais e funcionalistas de Max Weber e Talcott Parsons, e da fundamentação de uma teoria da racionalidade comunicativa capaz de se desvencilhar dos pressupostos subjetivistas e individualistas teoria social moderna.
