Abstract
W. G. Sebald always wrote showing a total engagement against the distortion of History. His books are denounces which reveal his posture in favor of defeated people, following Walter Benjamin’s idea. “The rings of Saturn” and “The Emigrants” show how the author points out, in a hybrid parallel between fact and fiction, the questions related to memory or to the right of not having it in cases that the pain is stronger than any correspondence with past.
