Abstract
Este artigo visa à aplicação da teoria semiolinguística na análise de uma crônica veiculada no âmbito jornalístico. Para tanto, faz uma revisão dos conceitos fundamentais desta teoria, sobretudo pautados em Charaudeau (2011; 2012). O trabalho, então, realiza uma análise a partir de um gênero textual bastante presente no cotidiano, a fim de demonstrar a aplicabilidade dos preceitos teóricos propostos pelo autor. Mostra-se também que uma leitura bem direcionada é fundamental para se escapar à ideia de que todas as interpretações de um texto são possíveis e, mais ainda, que as manifestações linguageiras implicam interlocutores dotados de uma intencionalidade e de uma coimagem criada pelo discurso.
