Una imagen que además evidencia las pujas y disputas sociales por el control de un patrimonio que, según sus características y peculiaridades, puede convertirse en no renovable. Teniendo en cuenta que el paisaje es una de las expresiones más acabadas del patrimonio cultural y principal seña de identidad sobre las que se articulan las estrategias de activación turística de un lugar, se desprende que se trata de un recurso valioso y potente a la vez que instrumento de control de las relaciones sociales y de poder. A partir de un estudio de caso el artículo desvela desde el punto de vista de los actores locales, las múltiples y heterogéneas miradas que expresan los actores sociales que entran en interacción en la construcción del paisaje cultural en territorios sujetos a usos turísticos. Abstract The cultural landscape as an image of territorial development style, shows the result of human interventions for the construction of the habitat. An image is also evidence that social disputes, and bids for control of a heritage that, according to their characteristics and peculiarities, can become nonrenewable. Given that the landscape is one of the most comprehensive expressions of cultural heritage and main hallmark of the strategies that articulate a tourist activation it is apparent that this is a valuable and powerful while instrument of social control and power. From a case study reveals the article from the point of view of local actors, the multiple and diverse looks that express the social actors that come into interaction in the construction of cultural landscape in territories subject to tourist use. This paper focuses on the impact of deindustrialization in Detroit, the ‘Motor City’ and the third largest industrial city in United States in the 1920s. It also examines how urban planning was crucial to city development. The research concentrates on city evolution, so that the links between modes of production and urban transformation is made explicit.
