Abstract
Der Artikel untersucht zwei gegensätzliche »schwarze« Perspektiven auf Deutschland um 1900. Ein Vergleich zwischen dem aus dem ehemaligen Deutsch-Südwestafrika stammenden Friedrich Maharero und dem Togolesen Nayo Bruce zeigt, inwiefern zwei unterschiedliche Standpunkte im kolonialen Kontext nicht nur die Umkehrperspektiven kolonialer Strukturen verdeutlichen, sondern in ihrer Verschiedenheit auch die Komplexität der Thematik darlegen.
