Abstract
Filmada hacia principios de los setenta, Caridad, episodio del largometraje Fe, esperanza y caridad, es uno de los ejemplos de las innovadoras propuestas estéticas que el director Jorge Fons realizó en el contexto del llamado "Nuevo cine mexicano". A partir de las herramientas del análisis intertextual, este artículo intenta demostrar la manera en que Fons, basado en múltiples referentes culturales -incluidos textos y personajes religiosos-, logró criticar severamente al establishment y al cine mexicano mismo.
