Abstract
LPG (liquefied petrol gases- sıvılaştırılmış petrol gazları), basınç altında sıvı hale getirilmiş hafif alifatik hidrokarbon olan bütan (C4H10) ve propan (CjHg) karışımından oluşan renksiz ve hafif bir kokuya sahip bir gazdır. LPG kaynaklı ölümler genellikle kazaya bağlı olarak karşımıza çıkmakta ve intihar daha seyrek görülmektedir. Bütan ve propana bağlı ölümün asfiksi, vagal inhibisyon, respiratuar depresyon ve aritmiler olmak üzere dört mekanizma ile meydana gelebileceği belirtilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, vücudunun tamamını battaniye ile örtüp, açık mutfak tüpünden uzanan hortumun ucunu battaniyenin altına sokarak özel düzenek hazırlayan ve bu düzenekle yatağında intihar eden 64 yaşmda bir erkek olgu sunulmuştur. Seyrek görülen bu olguya ait bulgular, literatür eşliğinde tartışılmıştır. Anahtar kelimeler:LPG, bütan, propan, intihar
