Abstract
Hasta hoy se ha prestado poca atención a la producción teatral que los dos hermanos escribieron en colaboración. Una de las razones podría ser la que señala Miguel Angel Baamonde en La vocación teatral de Antonio Machado : "(...) El trabajo no era agradecido y corría uno el riesgo de ser tachado de conservador debido al carácter mismo de este teatro. Quizá lo más grave de esas motivaciones fuese la posible indiferencia crítica ante un trabajo en el que forzosamente debían caminar unidos los nombres de Manuel y Antonio Machado."
