Abstract
Entre el 20 y el 21 de julio se realizó en Panamá la X Conferencia Iberoamericana de Ministros de Juventud dedicada al tema Jóvenes y nuevo milenio: el reto de la ciudadanía. La Agenda buscaba evaluar las políticas públicas de juventud (1995-2000) en tres sectores prioritarios: educación, empleo y salud, y en desafíos particulares respecto a participación e institucionalidad pública e integración y cooperación entre los jóvenes. El autor del ensayo hace un análisis del tema en la subregión andina: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú y Venezuela.On July 20th and 21st, the Tenth Ibero-American Conference of Youth Ministers took place in Panama. The Conference focused on the topic: “Young People and the New Millennium: the Challenge of the Citizens.” The agenda included the evaluation of public youth policies (1995- 2000) in three priority sectors: education, employment and health, and particular challenges relating to participation and public institutionalism as well as integration and cooperation among young people. The author of the essay analises this topic in the Andean subregion: Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, and Venezuela.
