Abstract
A linguagem e o teor singulares da crônica traduzem o sentimento contemporâneo da saga em busca de lucidez e segurança. Do império ao modernismo, a crônica evolui e se assume híbrida. A forma curta, o tom fragmentado e ligeiro encaixam-se no frenesi pós-moderno e o gê- nero se firma como prosa tipicamente brasileira. Em entrevista, Affonso Romano de Sant’Anna, Roberto Braga e Airton Monte acirram debate sobre o gênero e falam daquele que é considerado o maior dos cronistas modernos : Rubem Braga.
