Com o pó da cidade e a voz da lagoa, Pepetela, em O desejo deKianda, entoa o último andamento de um réquiem iniciado em Ageração da utopia. Através de duas metáforas, uma de conjunção e outrade disjunção - al iança c ruína -, o romancista tece a crônica do quadroreferencial angolano corrompido pelo novo imperialismo da era nomeadapor "globalização neo- liberal", no contraponto da realidade e dalenda, do fato e da ficção.
