Abstract
O método está intrinsecamente implicado com a natureza do conhecimento que se busca. O conhecimento teológico, por sua vez, comporta atitudes pré-teológicas, e, por isso, deborda as regras gerais dos métodos científicos e mesmo filosóficos. Embora se possa reconhecer que o método em filosofia também se condicione a atitudes pré-filosóficas, estas, no entanto, não são as mesmas atitudes que se requer para fazer teologia. Pode-se até afirmar que são atitudes opostas, embora não sejam excludentes mas se reclamem· a teologia é obra da fé que investiga racionalmente o que crê como verdade, usando, por isso, os métodos da razão - primeiros princípios, lógica, etc. – enquanto a filosofia é obra da razão que investiga com alguma fé, alguma esperança de encontrar a verdade.
