Abstract
O uso e manuseio, por assim dizer, do conhecimento humano, sempre existiram na história humana. Contudo a tratativa sistemática e intencional do conhecimento não é um assunto antigo e encontra-se em rápido desenvolvimento com aplicações cada vez mais amplas, em especial em processos de inovação. Inovação é a chave para a competitividade nas organizações e o conhecimento seu principal ativo. Neste contexto as ferramentas da tecnologia da informação (TI) tem papel importante na gestão do conhecimento GC e no suporte a processos de inovação..
O presente artigo propõe duas taxonomias das ferramentas de TI que suportam a GC e a inovação e aponta oportunidades de pesquisa no tópico. O objetivo é colaborar para a ampliação do entendimento sobre o tema e o alargamento da fronteira científica. Isto é feito a partir de um estudo exploratório do tema em diferentes bases indexadoras de periódicos, com a discussão sobre os trabalhos mais relevantes.
