Abstract
Dr Đorđe Guelmino was born on in 1893 in Niš and died in 1875 in Belgrade. The famous epidemiologists, worked in many different parts of Yugoslavia and had a rich professional biography and bibliography with international importance. He specially contributed to the study of malaria. As a head manager of the Institute of Hygiene, he participated in the establishment of the Department for Tuberculosis in 1937 in Niš. Durring World War II, he was a prisoner the Red Cross concentration camp, and after the liberation he made a fruitful scientific career.
