Abstract
The use of optical techniques is becoming increasingly widespread in biomedical monitoring and analysis because of its non-invasive nature. Physiological parameters are usually determined by characterization of temporal and spectral properties of the interaction between light and anatomy. Photoplethysmography is an optical technique which reflects the changes in blood volume and can be used for diagnosis of various disorders related to blood flow as well as monitoring the human pulse wave.
