Abstract
After being invited to deliver the final lecture at the I Seminário de Lingüística e Lingua Portuguesa da Faculdade de Letras da UFG and listening to the other lectures at the same event. I have asked to myself why linguistics, as it is a crucial area for mother tongue teaching, is not being used in the classroom? In order to answer to this question I have imagined a dialogue between the "voices'" inside Tensões na Educação by Florestan Fernandes e Cidades Invisíveis by Italo Calvino. My conclusions are reflected in this "dialogue".
