Abstract
The chosen study area, contained 90-95 percent of residential area till 1990’s. But after the 90’s the Ward witnessed a gradual change from residential to commercial land use. The growth of this phenomenon was caused by certain rules that changed the land use. Thus the present work seeks to investigate and analyze the prominent changes in land use land cover of Laitumkhrah as well as the functional changes, utility and the pace that has taken place at a rapid rate particularly after 2009 with the aid of Remote Sensing and GIS application.
