Abstract
Many exegetes today accuse Martin Dibelius’ Commentary on the Epistle of James of not appreciating James as an author and therefore not being able to recognize its coherence and theological scope. Yet in the Commentary’s preface Dibelius makes clear, that with his description of James he takes sides in the political struggles of his time, he pronounces himself in favour of the young Weimar Republic.
