Abstract
<!-- @page { margin: 2cm } --> <p class="western" align="justify">O trabalho foi realizado utilizando 20 camundongos (<em>Mus</em> <em>domesticus</em> <em>domesticus</em>) machos, com 30 dias de idade e peso de 25 gramas. Os animais foram divididos em dois grupos: Grupo 1 - Controle - solução salina oral e Grupo 2 - gossipol ácido acético via oral na dose de 20 mg/kg de peso vivo. O experimento teve a duração de 40 dias. Ao final do período, foi feita a determinação de eritrometria e leucometria pela técnica de câmara de contagem de Neubawer. Os resultados observados foram: leucometria (controle = 9.241 leucócitos por mm3 e gossipol = 6.125 leucócitos por mm3 - significativo P= 0,05) e eritometria (controle = 6.596.000 eritrócitos mm3 e gossipol = 6.399.000 eritrócitos mm3). Conclui-se do presente trabalho que o gossipol pode provocar efeitos deletérios nas células de defesa do organismo.</p> <p class="western" align="justify">PALAVRA-CHAVE: Gossipol; sangue; Mus.</p>
<!-- @page { margin: 2cm } --> <p class="western" align="justify">Twenty thirty day-old male mice weighing 25 g were divided in two groups: Group 1: oral saline solution (control), and Group 2: oral gossipol acetic-acid at 20 mg/kg. Forty days after treatments and leukocytes were counted through Newbawer counting chamber. Leukometry showed 9,241 leukocytes/mm3 for the control and 6,125 leukocytes/mm3 for the gossipol treated group (significant difference for P=0.05). Erythrometry showed 6,596,000 erythrocytes/mm3 and 6,399,000 erythrocytes/mm3 for control and gossipol treated mice, respectively. It was concluded that gossipol may induce a deleterious effect on the organism defense cells.</p> <p class="western" align="justify">KEY-WORDS: Gossipol; mice; blood.</p>
