Abstract
This  paper  aims  to  present  an  overview  of  the  evolution  of  the  right  to  privacy,  incorporated  in  our  legal  system  by  the 1988 Constitution and later the Civil Code  of  2002.  This  malleable  right  is  extremely  sensitive  to  social  changes.  Recognizing  privacy  as  a  volatile  legal  object,  the  article  shows that the context in which privacy rights  are inserted is essential to its effectiveness. The  work  respects  the  deductive  method,  starting  with the analysis of the first steps of the right to  privacy as an autonomous figure, ending with  its current interpretation by the Supreme Court.
