Abstract
En los últimos años, la infección por el VIH ha sufrido importantes cambios en su epidemiología. Uno de ellos es el incremento en la edad de los nuevos pacientes. A esto hay que añadir su mayor supervivencia. Todo ello contribuirá en los próximos años a un aumento en el número de personas mayores infectadas por el VIH. Por este motivo, es preciso llevar a cabo programas de prevención y atención integral que se adapten a las nuevas necesidades de este tipo de pacientes.
In the last years, HIV epidemiology has suffered important changes. One of this is the increasing age of the patient at diagnosis. On the other hand, the new HIV therapies have improved its outcome. So, in the following years, the number of HIV elderly patients will be higher. In the following years will be necessary to perform specific programs (prevention, care,...) for attending to them.
