Abstract
In this work about resilience, we offer some definitions arising of empirical revisions on this new construct. Early studies on resilience were conducted with people who survived terrible traumatic experiences, but far from succumbing to overcome them, knew and were strengthened. Positive psychology want to identify the characteristics of resilient people. In addition, our aim in this work was to know personality traits and ways of coping that make us invulnerable to the adversity and stress. Through the review of the existent bibliography, we find that determinate characteristics like the commitment, the control and the challenge configured the resistant personality. Nevertheless, other peculiarities do us stronger in front of the adversity as they are determinate personality traits like emotional stability, extraversion, agreeableness and conscientiousness. As well as some strategies that we use to cope the problems as they are the coping active and planning. This joined to the beliefs of self-efficacy and a locus internal of control to configure the profile of resilient people that grow and go out strengthened of the difficult problems of the life
