Abstract
O presente texto tem como objetivo, em um primeiro momento, fazer uma breveapresentação da noção de epistemologia na obra O Ser e o Nada de Jean-Paul Sartre para, apartir daí, colocar em evidência alguns conceitos importantes para tal noção, tais como ‘cogitopré-reflexivo’, ‘cogito reflexivo’ e principalmente a afirmação feita por Sartre de que toda teoriado conhecimento pressupõe uma metafísica. Em um segundo momento, serão apresentados doiscontrapontos teóricos à noção epistemológica sartreana. O primeiro contraponto será feito pormeio do empirismo clássico de Alfred Jules Ayer e o segundo por meio da noção deEpistemologia Naturalizada tal como concebida por Willard Van Orman Quine. Neste segundocaso o contraponto se estabelecerá tanto à noção de um cogito pré-reflexivo e reflexivo, como àafirmação de que toda teoria do conhecimento pressupõe uma metafísica.
