Abstract
This paper provides an overview of the major LGBT organizations in the U.S., their organizational resources, and ways to influence politicians and the media. LGBT movement during the 1990s, completed its transition from liberationist and the system outside position, to the lobbyist and system insider position. The paper discusses the criticism dissidents from LGBT movement consider the alienation of LGBT establishment of the true interests of its membership. At the end of the article LGBT movement and its organizations are considered from the point of success in achieving the goals and compared with the achievements and impact of counter-movement of Christian traditionalists.
Die vorliegende Arbeit bietet einen Überblick über die wichtigsten LGBT-Organisationen in den USA, ihre organisatorischen Ressourcen sowie ihre Möglichkeiten zur Einflussnahme auf Politik und Medien. In den 1990er-Jahren vollzog die LGBT-Bewegung ihren Übergang von einer liberationistischen, systemexternen Haltung hin zu einer Rolle als systeminterner Lobbyakteur. Der Beitrag thematisiert die Kritik von Dissidenten innerhalb der LGBT-Bewegung, die eine Entfremdung des LGBT-Establishments von den tatsächlichen Interessen seiner Basis konstatieren. Abschließend werden die LGBT-Bewegung und ihre Organisationen im Hinblick auf den Erfolg bei der Erreichung ihrer Ziele analysiert und mit den Errungenschaften sowie dem Einfluss der Gegenbewegung christlicher Traditionalisten verglichen.
