En este trabajo exploro los cambios en los regímenes de visibilización y representación de la subalternidad que han tenido lugar a lo largo del proceso bolivariano. Para ello analizaré las operaciones discursivas a través de las cuales se han delineado representaciones del pueblo, la comunidad popular y el joven popular en los medios de comunicación públicos (o afines al chavismo). Exploraré cómo estrategias que inicialmente apuntaban al empoderamiento y reconocimiento simbólico de sectores subalternos han devenido nuevos dispositivos normalizadores que construyen imágenes reificadas de lo popular y cómo estas frecuentemente contribuyen a producir subjetividades excluyentes y opresoras de otros grupos (mujeres, sujetos con masculinidades no hegemónicas, sexualidades disidentes). Abstract In this paper I explore the changes in the regimes of visibility and representation of subalternity that have taken place throughout the Bolivarian process. To do this I will analyze the discursive operations through which representations of the people, the community and the youth have been delineated in the state-owned mass media (akin to chavismo). I will explore how strategies initially aimed at empowering and giving symbolic recognition of subordinate sectors have become new normalizing devices that construct reified images of what the people mean and how they often help produce exclusive and oppressive subjectivities of other groups (women, subjects with no hegemonic masculinities, dissenting sexualities).
