Abstract
O uso de reguladores de crescimento tem sido uma prática para viabilizar a alteração do ciclo fenológico da mangueira visando à alteração do período de colheita. Com o objetivo de definir forma e concentração do paclobutrazol (PBZ), para duas épocas distintas de produção da mangueira, foram testadas duas formas de aplicação, via solo e via foliar, e diferentes concentrações do PBZ, em um pomar do município de Itaberaba, Bahia. Constatou-se que o PBZ aplicado via solo promove a floração da mangueira em qualquer época do ano, nas condições tropicais semi-áridas, mas sua eficiência é função principalmente dos valores de temperaturas máximas e mínimas ocorridas na época de quebra de dormência das gemas. Pelos resultados também se verificou a ineficiência do PBZ, aplicado via foliar.
The growth regulators have been used as a practice to alter the mango phenologic cycle in order to forecast the harvest. With the aim to define doses and Paclobutrazol (PBZ) application forms, an experiment was carried out in Itaberaba, State of Bahia, Brazil. Two ways of application were tested, via soil and foliar, and two different paclobutrazol doses. It was found that PBZ via soil, promotes flowering in mango trees in any season of the year, under tropical semi-arid conditions, but its efficiency are related to the maximum and minimum air temperatures at the time of bud break. The results showed that PBZ is inefficient when applied via foliar.
