Abstract
El uso de carboplatino en oncología pediátrica es cada día mas frecuente. Su eficacia ha sido demostrada tanto en asociación con otras drogas como en monoterapia y en regímenes de tratamiento con rescate de progenitores de células hematopoyéticas. Numerosos tumores sólidos de la infancia se benefician de su uso. Su menor toxicidad renal y auditiva constituye una ventaja sobre el cisplatino. La extensión de su aplicación y las modalidades de adaptación individual de la posología pediátrica recomiendan el uso de dosis sobre la base del cálculo del área bajo la curva.
The use of carboplatin in pediatric oncology is more frequent every day. Its efficacy has been proved not only in association with other drugs, but in monotherapy and in treatment regimes with rescue of haematopoietic cell progenitors. Numerous solid tumors of childhood are benefitted from its use. Its lower renal and auditive toxicity are an advantage over cisplatin. The extension of its application and the modalities of individual adaptation of the pediatric posology recommend the use of doses based on the calculation of the area under the curve.
