Abstract
Las bibliotecas, centros de documentación, archivos y museos también están expuestas al riesgo, ya sea por un fenómeno natural o uno causado por el ser humano. Este artículo pretende ofrecer un acercamiento a la elaboración del plan para la reducción de la vulnerabilidad ante emergencias y desastres en estas instituciones. Menciona la metodología que se ha usado en la capacitación de los profesionales que laboran en ellas y se exponen los elementos orientadores para la elaboración del plan. Se presenta un cuadro de las bibliotecas públicas oficiales del Ministerio de Cultura de Costa Rica con la información de las diferentes amenazas que pueden afectarlas Libraries, documentation centers, archives and museums are also exposed to risks, either due to a natural phenomenon or to one caused by mankind. This article tries to approach to the development of a plan to reduce vulnerability in case of emergencies or disasters in these institutions. It mentions the methodology used in the training of professionals who work there and it also presents the elements addressed to the plan development. It includes a chart with the official public libraries of the Costa Rican Culture Ministry with the threats that could affect them
