Abstract
As espécies herbáceas e subarbustivas com potencial medicinal de ocorrência em uma vegetação secundária, com seis anos de idade, situada no Parque Florestal Quedas do Rio Bonito, Lavras, MG – Brasil, tiveram sua produção de biomassa acima do solo avaliada em 60 unidades amostrais de 0,5 x 0,5 m (0,25 m2). Foram encontradas sete espécies distribuídas em cinco famílias botânicas. Quanto ao hábito das espécies, quatro são herbáceas e três subarbustivas. A produção total da biomassa acima do solo foi de 1740,0 kg.ha-1. Verificou-se que a área de vegetação secundária estudada apresenta potencialidade para o fornecimento de matéria-prima de origem vegetal para uso medicinal.
